ADHD & Executive Function Coach
Joy Stern is a Certified Life Coach and ADHD & Executive Function Coach who specializes in supporting adults and college students navigating ADHD, executive function challenges, and life transitions. She brings more than 10 years of coaching experience, along with a background in training and organizational development. Joy holds two professional coaching credentials: Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Co-Active Training Institute and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. She earned her Master’s degree in Organization Development from American University and spent 10 years working in the federal government in training and organizational development.
Throughout her coaching career, Joy has worked with adults and college students who are looking to better understand their challenges and develop practical strategies for everyday life. She helps clients strengthen executive function skills such as planning, prioritizing, organization, time management, focus, and follow-through. Joy also supports clients navigating college adjustment, career decisions, and other life transitions. Her approach focuses on helping clients build systems and routines that work with their individual strengths, needs, and ways of thinking.
Joy received specialized ADHD coach training for teens and college students through JST Coaching and Training and is a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator practitioner. She also holds a Career & Life Planning specialty certification. Through one-on-one coaching, Joy helps clients develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and independence while creating practical strategies for success at school, at home, and in the workplace.
Joy believes that meaningful progress begins with understanding how each person thinks, works, and approaches challenges. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, she partners with clients to identify patterns, understand their strengths, and develop personalized systems that make everyday responsibilities more manageable. Her coaching style is warm, collaborative, and focused on creating sustainable habits and real momentum over time.
Joy is a member of the International Coaching Federation and the ADHD Coaches Organization and serves as Treasurer of the Montgomery County, Maryland chapter of CHADD (Children and Adults with ADHD). Outside of coaching, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
