IEP/504 Advocacy

Understanding the best ways to support your child can often feel overwhelming. It can be difficult to know where to start or which questions to ask when you realize that your child is not receiving the necessary support. This is where an Educational Advocate can be of assistance. An Educational Advocate is someone who possesses a thorough understanding of the school system and can help families who are facing difficulties in obtaining the answers and services their child requires. By working closely with families and collaborating with the school, an Educational Advocate ensures that the unique needs of each student are being met.

The Special Education Advocate is available to attend a student’s IEP/504 meeting to provide additional support to the parents. The role of the Special Education Advocate is to decrease parental overwhelm and provide parents with education and support during the IEP/504 process.
